What's Different
Here

Woodland Hills is where our office and our fleet sit, which means the crews are minutes from the job rather than an hour down the 101. For an owner living through a remodel, that is not a branding point; it is whether a crew shows up on the morning something goes wrong.

The district divides into two kinds of project. On the valley floor the work is conventional LADBS plan check. Up the south slopes toward the Santa Monica Mountains the lots fall under hillside regulation and mapped fire hazard areas, and the engineering starts long before the architecture.

  1. 01

Hillside lots follow the Baseline Hillside Ordinance

LA City's hillside regulation ties allowable floor area to lot slope and imposes grading, height and access standards that flat-lot projects never encounter. On a steep parcel it can decide how big the house is allowed to be before an architect draws anything, so it is the first thing we check.

  2. 02

    South-slope parcels carry fire-zone construction

Lots mapped into fire hazard severity zones along the southern edge of the district require Chapter 7A ignition-resistant construction and brush clearance compliance. Whether your specific parcel is in or out of the mapped zone changes the assembly costs materially, so it is worth confirming early.

  3. 03

    Local base, self-performed crews

Our office, crews and fleet are based here. We self-perform foundation, framing and finish rather than brokering the job out, so the people on your site answer to us and respond on a local timescale.

Woodland Hills Questions

Are you actually local, or is this a service-area page?
Actually local. Our office is on Burbank Blvd in Woodland Hills and our fleet yards here. The phone number on this site is the number on the trucks.
Do you take on additions and whole-home remodels, or only new builds?
Both. Class B General Building Contractor licensing covers ground-up custom homes, additions and whole-home remodels, and we run all three through the same process.
Is my lot considered a hillside lot?
It depends on the mapped slope of your parcel, not on whether it feels steep. It is a quick thing for us to check against the City's records at the site walk, and the answer changes what you are allowed to build.
