How We Work
From First Meeting
to Move-In Day
Every Zuma project follows the same disciplined process — whether it's a ground-up custom home or a rebuild after loss. Four phases, one team, full transparency at every step.
- 01
Site Walk + Consultation
We visit your lot to understand your scope, goals, and what you're working with. For rebuild clients, that includes debris status, soils, setbacks, and what the site can support. No pressure — just an honest assessment of where things stand.
- 02
Budget + Feasibility
Real numbers, not guesses. We put together a clear budget and feasibility plan so you know exactly what to expect before anything starts. For insurance-funded rebuilds, we align the construction scope with your settlement so the budget holds.
- 03
Design + Permitting
We coordinate architects, engineers, and city approvals — moving your project through the permitting process efficiently. Rebuilds are engineered to current fire-hardening code: Class A roof assemblies, ember-resistant venting, tempered glazing, and defensible-space planning.
- 04
Build + Deliver
Clear timelines, hands-on execution. Our own crews manage construction from foundation to finish, with a weekly owner update so you always know where your project stands and what comes next.
Questions We Hear Most
Straight Answers
Do you work with insurance settlements? +
Yes. We build construction budgets you can put in front of your carrier and align the scope of work with your settlement before construction starts, so the numbers hold from claim to completion.
How long does a rebuild actually take? +
It depends on the site and the jurisdiction, and we'd rather give you a real number at the site walk than a marketing number here. What we commit to: a written schedule before we start, and a weekly update against it while we build.
Do you handle the permits? +
Yes — permitting and city approvals are part of every Zuma project. We work in LA's residential jurisdictions constantly and manage the process end to end, including coastal and hillside review where they apply.
Who is actually on my jobsite? +
Zuma crews. We self-perform the core trades — foundation, framing, finish — with our own people and equipment, under our own supervision. Specialty trades are long-standing partners who work to our standard.
Are you licensed and insured? +
Yes — Zuma Construction Corporation holds CSLB license #1055448 (Class B, General Building Contractor), bonded and insured, building since 2019. You can verify the license directly with the CSLB.
